There were few surprises really. Barça had to work hard to get the three points in San Mamés and Real Madrid were fortunate in the derby. I thought Atlético played the better football, particularly in the 2nd half, but Real Madrid ended up taking the points back to the Barnabéu after a penalty in the 93rd minute. No complaints, though - it's performances like this that are the mark of a true champion.

Apart from Villarreal dropping a couple of points in the Lluis Companys, everything stays the same at the top of the table.

Anyway, the Champions League is back this week, so I'll be back tomorrow with the fixtures and some pre-match analysis.

All the best

Simon
